Guayakí provided $259,660 in charitable contributions in 2021. The majority of donations were made to the foundations that support the regenerative development of the Indigenous and smallholder producer communities that we source yerba mate from- Regeneración Paraguay and Fundación Agroecológica Iguazú. Additional donations include $10,000 to the Climate Collaborative, an independent organization working with companies in the natural products industry to reverse climate change. $5,000 was donated to the Whole Planet Foundation, dedicated to poverty alleviation and empowerment of the world’s poorest people with microcredit in places where Whole Foods Market sources products. Finally, $10,000 was donated to the Bioneers Collective, a nonprofit providing a fertile hub of social and scientific innovators with practical and visionary solutions for the world’s most pressing environmental and social challenges. $50,000 was donated to Gaia Amazonas to finance scholarships for Indigenous leaders who participated in an Indigenous Environmental Leadership Program.
